Self-forgiveness

I often say that love is an action word. I believe that love is shown through your actions and your thoughts and your Deeds. You see the love in how you treat yourself and how others treat you. You can also tell how you love someone how you treat them.

But what I have found is that we tend to struggle to forgive ourselves for our bad decisions we’ve made in the past.  Self-reflection is an important thing for us to be able to grow as a person and develop into the person we want to be. The person who you were at 20 will not be the person who you are at 30 because of the growth and development that you’ve gone through. That person who you are at 30 will not be the same person you are at 60 because you were at a different stage of life. Yes, you may do some things the same way, but your thought processes will change based upon the life station and what you now value.

Many people go through life refusing to forgive themselves for situations that they allow themselves to be in earlier in life. Again we grow and develop and even though we hate to admit it some of those awful, distasteful, unpleasing situations can make us stronger and better. But we must first learn how to forgive ourselves. We take what we need and the rest we leave.

We have to forgive ourselves for allowing ourselves to put ourselves in situations where we accept negative behavior and poor treatment as love. Know your worth, know your value, recognize the action word love.

 You are worth it.
