Rejection

What’s holding your back?

Rejection is defined as the dismissing or refusing of a proposal.

Rejection is something that we all go through. We all at some point in our lives have to face some level or some form of rejection. Some of the greatest accomplishments of people’s lives  came after rejection.  Beyonce’s in her class of 20/20 graduation speech made note that although she has won 24 Grammys  she has lost 46 times.

Losing out loud, in front of an audience watching others choose something or someone who they felt was better is one of the hardest realities we  face. But it’s how you respond to that rejection that will determine true happiness and success.

You have to ask yourself the hard questions:

  1.  Was it my best work
  2.  Is what I produced truly a good product
  3. What made this product unsuccessful
  4. If I could change anything what would I change
  5.  My next step is….

These questions are questions that I’ve had to ask myself many times in the last few years. And to be honest there was a time when these questions actually haunted me. Because I never could understand why and I guess I was expecting someone else to give me that why.

It took me many years to learn that those No’s that I was getting  made me the person I am today. Yes I still get No’s, yes I still get rejection but the difference is now they are building blocks that help me step up, instead of Weights that hold me down.

Finally, on the way to turning your No’s into Yesses,  allow the rejections to build you, sculpt you, shape you to be a better you. But never let the No’s stop you.
